It may show a company trading at K5, K25, K100 or another amount. But what does that number actually mean?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A share price is the market price of one share at a particular point in time. It tells you what buyers and sellers are currently willing to pay and accept in the market. The price can change as trading takes place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For example, imagine you buy a share at K20. If its market price later becomes K25, the market value of your share has increased by K5. But if the price falls to K15, its market value has decreased by K5. This is one of the most important things a new investor needs to understand: <strong>share prices can go both up and down<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, there is another important lesson. A share priced at K5 is not automatically cheaper than a share priced at K100.
